The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met at 8:30 a.m. this day, in the Richmond "C" Room of the Travelodge Trumpeter Motor Inn, in Grande Prairie, Alberta, the Chair, John Harvard, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Rick Borotsik, Garry Breitkreuz, John Harvard, Joe McGuireDick Proctor.
Other Member present: Charlie Penson.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch - Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge, Researcher; Jean-Denis Fréchette, Economist.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study of the effectiveness of long-term safety nets and other national initiatives to provide the stability and environment necessary for stable growth in the agricultural industry.
Mills Anderson, René Blanchette, Art Macklin and Cliff Richards made opening statements and answered questions.
Donald Dumont, Peter Eggers, Rick Nagel and Gary Smolik made opening statements and answered questions.
Duane Stevenson and Leo Meyer made opening statements and answered questions.
