Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the subcommittee on Monday, February 7, 2022, the subcommittee commenced its briefing with Human Rights Organizations.

Ketty Nivaybandi, France-Isabelle Langlois and Hillel Neuer made statements and answered questions.

At 7:27 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 7:33 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Nury Turkel, Denise Byrnes and Jeremy England made statements and answered questions.

At 8:25 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 8:29 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to subcommittee business.

It was agreed, — That Members forward their ranked witness lists for the study of Human Rights in Repressive States: The situation of human rights defenders, journalists and media organizations to the clerk by end of day Tuesday, March 1, 2022.

It was agreed, — That each Member submit two names for the Women Human Rights Defenders Recognition Award to the clerk by Wednesday, March 16, 2022.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $ 875.00, for the briefing with Human Rights Organizations, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $ 575.00, for the briefing with the World Food Programme, be adopted.

At 8:56 p.m., the subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
