Pursuant to the order of reference of Wednesday, February 15, 2023, the committee resumed consideration of Bill C-290, An Act to amend the Public Servants Disclosure Protection Act.

Sean Bruyea, Tom Devine, Michèle Brill-Edwards, Anna Myers, and Joanna Gualtieri made statements and answered questions.

At 4:59 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:12 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That Hon. Greg Fergus be permitted to attend today’s in camera committee meeting.

It was agreed, — That the motion pertaining to the deadline for amendments on Bill C‑290, An Act to amend the Public Servants Disclosure Protection Act, adopted by the committee on Monday, April 17, 2023, be rescinded and replaced with the following text:

That the deadline for amendments to be submitted to the clerk of the committee for Bill C‑290, An Act to amend the Public Servants Disclosure Protection Act, be noon on Wednesday, May 10, 2023.

It was agreed, — That the motion pertaining to the date to begin clause‑by‑clause consideration of Bill C‑290, An Act to amend the Public Servants Disclosure Protection Act, adopted by the committee on Monday, April 17, 2023, be rescinded and replaced with the following text:

That the committee commence clause‑by‑clause consideration of Bill C‑290, An Act to amend the Public Servants Disclosure Protection Act on Monday, May 15, 2023.

It was agreed, — That, on the topic of the Main Estimates 2023‑24, the committee invite: the Parliamentary Budget Officer on Monday, May 8, 2023; and Canada Post, the Privy Council Office, and the Transportation Safety Board on Wednesday, May 10, 2023.

It was agreed, — That the committee undertake a study, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), on the subject matter of the Main Estimates 2023‑24, and that the committee invite the President of the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat and officials to appear on the study on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.

At 5:36 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
