The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the seventh report of the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure which reads as follows be concurrred in.

1. For the meeting of Tuesday, October 3, 2023, the committee study the draft report of the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., the committee proceed to a pre-study of Bill S-12 hearing the Minister of Justice and the Officials.

2. For the meeting of Thursday, October, 5, 2023, the committee hears witnesses on its pre-study of Bill S-12.

3. For the meeting of Tuesday, October 17, 2023, first thirty minutes be a meeting of the Subcommittee of the Agenda and Procedure to study committee business and the rest of the meeting be for the purpose of hearing witnesses on Bill S-12.

At 4:54 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:57 p.m., the sitting resumed in public.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, the committee resumed consideration of the subject matter of Bill S-12, An Act to amend the Criminal Code, the Sex Offender Information Registration Act and the International Transfer of Offenders Act.

The Minister made a statement and, with Matthew Taylor, answered questions.

At 6:00 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
