The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That briefs of no more than 2,000 words be accepted in relation to the study of women's health.

It was agreed, — That the Minister of Mental Health and Addictions and officials be invited to appear at their earliest convenience for a two-hour briefing on mental health and addictions in Canada.

It was agreed, — That the Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Disability Inclusion and officials be invited to appear at their earliest convenience for a one-hour briefing on labour shortages in the health care sector and the Foreign Credential Recognition Program.

It was agreed, — That the committee invite officials from the Public Health Agency of Canada to appear for one hour in relation to its study of the emergency situation facing Canadians in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was agreed, — That the Minister of Health, along with departmental officials, and officials from the Public Health Agency of Canada, be invited to appear for two hours at their earliest convenience on the committee’s study of the Supplementary Estimates (A) 2022-23, or, at the discretion of the Chair, on the subject matter thereof.

It was agreed, — That in relation to the committee’s study of the emergency situation facing Canadians in light of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the committee hold a two-hour meeting with the themes of long COVID and COVID therapeutics, and that parties provide additional suggested witnesses to the clerk as soon as possible.

It was agreed, — That the committee hold a preliminary briefing in relation to its study of children's health, and that the Chair, in collaboration with the clerk and analysts, consult each party represented on the committee to determine the list of witnesses to be invited.

It was agreed, — That the committee hold a committee business meeting in fall 2022 to discuss its studies of national three-digit suicide prevention hotline (988), oversight of medical devices (breast implants), and women's health.

At 5:05 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
