The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That, in consideration of Bill S-5, An Act to amend the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999, to make related amendments to the Food and Drugs Act and to repeal the Perfluorooctane Sulfonate Virtual Elimination Act:

  1. The study begins on Tuesday, November 22, 2022;
  2. The Minister of Environment and Climate Change be invited to appear on Friday, December 2, 2022;
  3. Amendments to Bill S-5 be submitted to the Clerk in both official languages by 5:00 p.m., Eastern standard time, on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 and distributed to committee members in both official languages by 12:00 p.m., Eastern standard time, on Wednesday, December 7, 2022;
  4. The clerk of the committee shall write immediately to each member who is not a member of a caucus represented on the committee and to any independent member informing them of the consideration of the bill by the committee and inviting them to prepare and submit any proposed amendments to the bill that they would suggest the committee consider during clause-by-clause study of the bill;
  5. The committee shall proceed to clause-by-clause consideration of the bill no later than Friday, December 9, 2022;
  6. Subject to the approval of the whips of the recognized parties and the availability of meeting slots in the House, the committee shall hold additional meetings for the purpose of hearing testimony as well as for clause-by-clause consideration of the bill.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, February 3, 2022, the committee resumed its study of fossil fuel subsidies.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

At 3:07 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
