Motion

Chris Bittle moved, — That the committee commence its clause-by-clause study on the Online Streaming Act no later than Monday, June 13, at 3:30 p.m. EDT.

Amendment

John Nater moved, — That the motion be amended by replacing the words “no later than Monday, June 13, at 3:30 p.m. EDT.” with the following: “following the completion of the committee’s study pursuant to House Order made June 2, 2022.”.

Debate arose thereon.

Subamendment

Sébastien Lemire moved, — That the amendment be amended by adding after the words “pursuant to House Order made June 2, 2022” the following: “; that, to do so, the committee meet outside its usual time slots to begin this study; that the committee invite the Minister of Sport to appear for at least one hour; and that the committee invite representatives from Hockey Canada to appear for at least two hours”.

At 5:15 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:49 p.m., the sitting resumed.

By unanimous consent, the subamendment was withdrawn.

The committee resumed consideration of the amendment of Mr. Nater.

Subamendment

Peter Julian moved, — That the amendment be amended by replacing the words “following the completion of” with the words “at the same time as it undertakes”, and by adding after the words “pursuant to House Order made June 2, 2022.” the following “; that the committee holds hearings into the allegations on Monday, June 13, 2022, and Wednesday, June 15, 2022; and that remaining amendments to C-11 be submitted to the clerk of the committee by 12:00 p.m. EDT on Friday, June 10, 2022.”.
