Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Friday, October 30, 2020, the committee resumed its study of economic recovery in the forestry sector.

Don Roberts, Tina Rasmussen and Jeff Bromley made statements and answered questions.

At 12:12 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:18 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Jason Krips, Susan Yurkovich and Sylvain Labbé made statements and answered questions.

At 1:09 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 1:16 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That, with regard to the study on economic recovery in the forestry sector: (a) the Consortium de recherche et d'innovation en bioprocédés industriels au Québec and Brian Fehr of Peak Renewals be added to the list of possible witnesses; (b) the committee hold a total of seven sittings on this subject provided that, at the end of the sittings, the analysts be instructed to prepare a draft report; (c) notwithstanding any previous decisions, the sittings last two hours and be in the form of four- to six-person panels focusing on a specific theme; and (d) the parties be asked to review their top choices for witnesses for this study and inform the clerk of the results.

At 1:30 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
