Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, October 8, 2020, the committee resumed its study of the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 6:16 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 6:22 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the confidential correspondence discussed by the committee be transmitted to the Procurement Ombudsman and the Public Sector Integrity Commissioner for their consideration.

It was agreed, — That, in the context of the committee's study of the government's response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the work plan be amended and that the committee invite the witnesses suggested for meetings six, seven and eight as well as representatives of the COVID-19 Vaccine Task Force to appear.

It was agreed, — That the Parliamentary Budget Officer be invited to appear before the committee on Monday, March 8, 2021, to discuss his report entitled “The Cost of Canada’s Surface Combatants: 2021 Update and Options Analysis”.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, October 8, 2020, the committee resumed its study of the Nuctech security equipment contract.

The committee proceeded to give drafting instructions to the analysts for a draft report.

It was agreed, — That members submit their draft recommendations to the clerk by Monday, March 1, 2021, for inclusion in the first version of the report.

At 7:05 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
