Pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the clerk of the committee presided over the election of a vice-chair.

On motion of Dean Allison, it was agreed, — That Jasraj Singh Hallan be elected as first vice-chair of the committee.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motions adopted by the committee on October 20, 2021 and February 1, 2021, the committee resumed its study of special immigration and refugee measures for the people of Hong Kong.

It was agreed, — That, regarding the study of special immigration and refugee measures for the people of Hong Kong, the committee allocate one additional hour to the study to invite representatives of VFS Global to testify for one hour, and that this meeting take place not later than February 24, 2021.

Mabel Tung, Joey Siu and Nathan Law made statements and answered questions.

At 6:46 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 6:49 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Alex Neve, Ted Hui and Charles Burton made statements and answered questions.

At 7:33 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
