Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committe on Friday, October 23, 2020, the committee resumed its study of trade between Canada and the United Kingdom: a potential transitional trade agreement.

Doug Forsyth made a statement and, with Janice Charette, Aaron Fowler, and Steve Verheul answered questions.

Motion

Tracy Gray moved, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee invite the Minister of Small Business, Export Promotion, and International Trade to appear before the committee at any time that accommodates her schedule, before December 4, 2020, for a meeting of 2 hours on the subject of a potential transitional trade agreement between Canada and the United Kingdom.

Debate arose thereon.

Amendment

Rachel Bendayan moved, — that the motion be amended by substituting the words "December 4" and "December 10".

After debate, the question was put on the amendment of Rachel Bendayan and it was negatived on the following recorded division:

YEAS: Rachel Bendayan, Francis Drouin, Peter Fragiskatos, Randeep Sarai, Terry Sheehan — 5;

NAYS: Ziad Aboultaif, Daniel Blaikie, Tracy Gray, Randy Hoback, Ben Lobb, Simon-Pierre Savard-Tremblay — 6.

The Committee resumed consideration of the motion of Tracy Gray, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee invite the Minister of Small Business, Export Promotion, and International Trade to appear before the committee at any time that accommodates her schedule, before December 4, 2020, for a meeting of 2 hours on the subject of a potential transitional trade agreement between Canada and the United Kingdom.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:
