Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, the committee resumed its study of processing capacity.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Room to Grow: Strengthening Food Processing Capacity in Canada for Food Security and Exports".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.

It was agreed, — That dissenting or supplementary opinions be in Calibri 12-point font, left aligned, single-spaced, and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the clerk of the committee, not later than 4:00 p.m. (ET) on Friday, April 23, 2021.

ORDERED — That the Chair present the report to the House.

It was agreed, — That the clerk and analysts of the committee prepare, in consultation with the Chair, a news release for publication on the committee's website and for distribution following the presentation of the report to the House.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That senior officials from the Department of the Environment and the Department of Finance be invited to appear in relation to the study of Bill C-206, An Act to amend the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act (qualifying farming fuel), on Tuesday, May 4, 2021.

It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, the committee hear from 17 witnesses in relation to the study of Bill C-206, An Act to amend the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act (qualifying farming fuel).

It was agreed, — That the committee commence clause-by-clause consideration of Bill C-206, An Act to amend the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act (qualifying farming fuel) on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 and that amendments be forwarded to the clerk of the committee no later than 5:00 p.m. (ET) on Friday, May 7, 2021.

It was agreed, — That the committee continue its consideration of Bill C-205, An Act to amend the Health of Animals Act; that at least three meetings be held; that each meeting take the form of two one-hour panels; that each panel be composed of three witnesses; that the witnesses be given five minutes for their opening remarks; that the parties send a list of witnesses to the clerk of the committee no later than 5:00 p.m. (ET) on Wednesday, April 28, 2021; and that the committee accept briefs on this bill.

It was agreed, — That the committee invite officials from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency to appear in relation to the study of Bill C-205, An Act to amend the Health of Animals Act, on Thursday, May 6, 2021 and that five minutes be allotted for their opening remarks.

At 4:54 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
