The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the processing capacity study: (a) the committee hold two additional meetings on Thursday, February 18, and Tuesday, February 23, 2021; (b) that eight additional witnesses be heard at those meetings; and (c) that parties send a list of witnesses to the committee clerk no later than Wednesday, February 10, 2021.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee undertake a study on the best practices, tools, accessible technologies, and ways in which the Government of Canada can recognize the important role of agriculture and partner with producers to reduce the environmental impact of agriculture, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, reduce carbon footprints, promote soil health, reduce dependency on fossil fuels and encourage producers to continue adopting environmentally friendly practices; that this study include hearing from witnesses with specific knowledge on this topic; that this study include an invitation to appear to the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-food and departmental officials; that no fewer than eight meetings be held to hear from witnesses; and that the committee report its findings with recommendations back to the House, and that, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.

It was agreed, — That each meeting consist of two panels of one hour; that each panel consist of two witnesses; that at least 32 witnesses be heard; and that the parties provide a list of witnesses to the clerk of the committee no later than Thursday, February 18, 2021.
