Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(f) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, November 22, 2018, the Committee resumed its study of the state of Canada's Francophonie.

Guylaine F. Roy made a statement and, with Denis Racine, answered questions.

At 12:02 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:15 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Committee invite, as soon as possible, the Fédération des communautés francophones et acadienne du Canada (FCFA), the Quebec Community Groups Network (QCGN), the Commissioner of Official Languages, and the Minister of Tourism, Official Languages and La Francophonie to attend a two-hour meeting to discuss a federal-provincial-territorial summit on official languages as part of the 50th anniversary of the Official Languages Act.

It was agreed, — That the Committee invite, as soon as possible, the Minister of Tourism, Official Languages and La Francophonie, as well as the Commissioner of Official Languages to appear before the Committee to discuss the 2019-2020 Interim Estimates.

It was agreed, — That on Thursday, February 28, 2019, the Committee invite witnesses to appear in relation to its study of the modernization of the Official Languages Act.

It was agreed, — That the Committee undertake a study on workplace safety for parliamentary interpreters.

It was agreed, — That the Committee invite, as soon as possible, the parliamentary secretary to the Minister of Public Services and Procurement and Accessibility to appear in relation to the study of the implementation of Part VII of the Official Languages Act in the administration of the surplus federal lands and real property disposal process and the study on workplace safety for parliamentary interpreters.

At 12:49 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
