It was agreed, — That the Committee invite the Commissioner for Official Languages to appear in relation to the Main Estimates 2018-19 before the summer adjournment.
It was agreed, — That on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, the Committee commence consideration of a draft report in relation to the Committee's review of support programs for official language minority community media.
At 4:33 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 4:37 p.m., the sitting resumed.
The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.
It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.
It was agreed, — That the report be entitled : "Growing Up in French in Western Canada: A Review of Federal Support for Early Childhood Education".
It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and Analyst be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.
It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.
It was agreed, — That dissenting or supplementary opinions be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the Clerk of the Committee, not later than 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2018.
ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.
It was agreed, — That the Analyst, and the Clerk, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the Committee's website and for distribution upon presentation of the report to the House.
It was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Committee make the necessary arrangements for a press conference to be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 1:15 p.m. after the tabling of the report to the House.
At 5:19 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
