Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, May 4, 2017, the Committee resumed its study of advancing inclusion and quality of life for Canadian seniors.

Elizabeth Douglas, by videoconference from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Nancy Milroy Swainson, Luisa Atkinson, Lyse Langevin, Don Head and Anna Romano made statements and answered questions.

At 12:42 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:44 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $39,600 for the study of advancing inclusion and quality of life for Canadian seniors, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of advancing inclusion and quality of life for Canadian seniors, the deadline to request to appear be Friday, August 11, 2017.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of advancing inclusion and quality of life for Canadian seniors, each party send a prioritized list of witnesses, including their contact information, to the Clerk of the Committee no later than Friday, August 18, 2017.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of advancing inclusion and quality of life for Canadian seniors, the deadline to submit a brief be Friday, October 20, 2017.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of advancing inclusion and quality of life for Canadian seniors, a news release be published online and on social media.

It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the routine motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, the Clerk of the Committee be authorized to distribute Committee documents relative to the study of advancing inclusion and quality of life for Canadian seniors to MPs Rachel Blaney and Karen Vecchio.

It was agreed, — That the Committee invite the Auditor General of Canada to appear before the Committee for a briefing session in relation to Report 5, Temporary Foreign Worker Program, Employment and Social Development Canada of the Spring 2017 Reports of the Auditor General of Canada, on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 or on Thursday, September 28, 2017.

At 1:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
