Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Tuesday, October 17, 2017, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-55, An Act to amend the Oceans Act and the Canada Petroleum Resources Act.

Natalie Ban, by videoconference from Victoria, British Columbia, Rodolphe Devillers, by videoconference from St-John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Boris Worm, by videoconference from Halifax, Nova Scotia, made statements and answered questions.

At 9:49 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:51 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Peter Lantin, by videoconference from Skidegate, British Columbia, and Marilyn Slett, by videoconference from Vancouver, British Columbia, made statements and answered questions.

At 10:42 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:43 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $17,800.00, for the study of Bill C-55, An Act to amend the Oceans Act and the Canada Petroleum Resources Act, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of The Oceans Act’s Marine Protected Areas, members of the Committee be able to refer to and to utilize any and all testimony heard and briefs received during the Committee’s consideration of Bill C-55, An Act to amend the Oceans Act and the Canada Petroleum Resources Act.

At 10:51 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
