We will begin today's meeting in public.
The last three weeks of the status of women committee has been reviewed by the media, so it's really important at this time, as we're moving forward, that we are gracious to one another and show respect for everybody. We have seen a lot of attacks throughout the media on different individuals, so it is really important that we continue to move forward and do what's best for Canadian women and Canadian families.
Part of my job is looking at decorum, and although I like to have fun, it is really important we be extremely respectful as we move forward on any of our discussions whether they be in camera or public, and that we all work together. I would like to continue having a very good and positive relationship with all members of the committee, and it is important that we all show respect throughout the time as well.
I look forward to being your chair. I have done all my reading that I needed to do, and I'm very happy to be sitting beside an excellent clerk, analyst, and deputy analyst, so that we can get the work done.
We will be going in camera today so that we can discuss a lot of information on committee business, but I will take a question now from Sean Fraser.
Thanks very much. I appreciate the sentiment.
I have one small issue dealing with committee business that I thought we would deal with in camera. If we're going in camera anyway, then okay, that's perfect.
    That's not a problem.
Is there anything else before we go in camera?
    Ms. Malcolmson.
Thank you, Chair, for serving and for the introductory comments.
We talked about this at the subcommittee as well, the commitment on the part of all parties to continue the good way we have been working together over the last year and a half, or two years. We look forward to smooth seas.
    Excellent. Thank you.
I am going to suspend to go in camera.
