Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 4, 2016, the Committee proceeded to a briefing by the Minister of Status of Women Canada.

The Minister made a statement and answered questions.

Committee Business
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

Motion

Rachael Harder moved, — That the Committee agree to undertake a study under the broad umbrella of violence against women, pursuant to the Minister's mandate to create a national gender violence study, and that the Committee agree to meet at a later date to detail this study.

It was agreed, — That consideration of the motion be postponed.

At 4:52 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
