Rachael Harder moved, — That the Committee invite the Minister for Women and Gender Equality to brief the Committee on her new mandate, given that Status of Women Canada has changed to the Department for Women and Gender Equality, no later than Thursday, April 4, 2019, and that this meeting be no less than one hour in length and be televised.
Debate arose thereon.
Salma Zahid moved, — That the motion be amended by replacing the words “to brief the Committee on her new mandate, given that Status of Women Canada has changed to the Department for Women and Gender Equality, no later than Thursday, April 4, 2019, that this meeting be no less than one hour in length and be televised” with the words “and relevant departmental officials to appear on Thursday, March 21, 2019, for the consideration of the subject matter of the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2018-19, and the Interim Estimates 2019-20, and to brief the Committee on the mandate of the Department for Women and Gender Equality”.

Rachael Harder moved, — That the amendment be amended by adding after the words “Department for Women and Gender Equality” the words: “and that the meeting be no less than two hours in length”.

That the Committee invite the Minister for Women and Gender Equality and relevant departmental officials to appear on Thursday, March 21, 2019, for the consideration of the subject matter of the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2018-19, and the Interim Estimates 2019-20, and to brief the Committee on the mandate of the Department for Women and Gender Equality.

By unanimous consent, it was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the Committee routine motion on the distribution of documents, adopted on Thursday, February 4, 2016, Catherine Twinn be allowed to display two videos and her PowerPoint presentation to the Committee in English only.
