Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 9, 2017, the Committee resumed its study of the provision of assistance to Canadians in difficulty abroad (Consular Affairs).

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Twentieth Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in:

Your Subcommittee met on Monday, October 15, 2018, to consider the business of the Committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:

1. That the high-level travel proposal budget in the amount of $ 50,000 to $ 100,000, for the Committee’s travel in Spring 2019 in relation to a new study of Rules-Based International Order, be adopted and presented to the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets.

2. That topics of multi-party concern be submitted to the Clerk, and that these topics be considered in short one or two hour meetings, as the Committee’s schedule permits.

3. That the Committee hold a meeting dedicated to the situation in Venezuela, and that the analysts prepare a document to outline the scope of this meeting.

4. That the Chair make arrangements for an informal luncheon with the European Parliament’s Subcommittee for Human Rights on October 30, 2018, and that the Committee be authorized to provide hospitality as deemed appropriate.

At 4:52 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
