Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on February 25, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of federal protected areas and conservation objectives.

Patricia Faries, Chantal Otter Tétreault, Janet Sumner and Alain Branchaud made statements and, with Jack Rickard and Geoffrey Quaile answered questions.

At 5:12 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:16 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Robin Lessard and Silvia D'Amelio made statements and, with Kevin McNamee answered questions.

At 6:18 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 6:19 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the analysts and the Clerk, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the Committee’s website and for distribution in relation to the Review of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 based on instructions provided at the meeting of Tuesday, October 18th, 2016.

At 6:35 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
