The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

On motion of Mark Gerretsen, it was agreed, — That the Third report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in:

Your Subcommittee met on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, to consider the business of the Committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:

1. That the Pacific Salmon Foundation be invited to appear next Tuesday, May 17th on the study of federal protected areas and conservation objectives.

2. That the clerk of the Committee, in consultation with the analysts and with the Chair, prepare a draft budget and travel plan for the Committee departing September 16, 2016 on the federal protected areas and conservation objectives study and that the following locations be considered: Banff, Jasper, Waterton Lakes, Gulf Islands, Haida Gwaii and Northern Canada.

3. That the following work plan for witnesses be adopted:

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on February 25, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of federal protected areas and conservation objectives.

Stephen Woodley by videoconference from Vrchlabl, Czech Republic, Sigrid Kuehnemund, Sue Feddema-Leonard by videoconference from Grand Cache, Alberta, Eric Reder by videoconference from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Nadim Kara and John Masswohl made statements and, with Stephanie Brown by videoconference from Grand Cache, Alberta, answered questions.

At 1:01 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
