The Chair called Vote 1a under Department of Citizenship and Immigration.
The Minister made a statement and, with Daniel Mills, answered questions.
Michelle Rempel moved, — That, pursuant to section 10(2) and 10(3) of the Parliament of Canada Act, the Minister be examined under oath for the remainder of this meeting.
At 3:53 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 4:02 p.m., the sitting resumed.
The question was put on the motion and it was negatived on the following recorded division:

The Minister answered questions.

RULING BY THE CHAIR
The Chair ruled that the Member be allowed to continue in the line of questioning, provided that no member of the Committee should impugn the reputation of another member of Parliament either directly or indirectly.
