Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 4, 2016, the Committee proceeded to a briefing session on the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

Kirsten Hillman made a statement, and with Alison O'Leary, answered questions.

At 10:33 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:34 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee undertake a study of the Softwood Lumber Agreement between Canada and the United States; and that the meeting of March 24, 2016, be dedicated to this study.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of the Softwood Lumber Agreement between Canada and the United States, members of the Committee submit to the Clerk of the Committee, by Monday, February 22, 2016 at 12:00 p.m., their prioritized lists of witnesses.

It was agreed, — That the Committee invite departmental officials for a briefing on the Canada–European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) on Thursday, March 10, 2016.

It was agreed, — That the Committee meet a delegation from the European Parliament on March 22, 2016.

At 10:49 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
