The Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities met in camera at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Larry Miller, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Harold Albrecht, Marjolaine Boutin-Sweet, Olivia Chow, Ed Komarnicki, Hoang Mai, David J. McGuinty, Larry Miller, Mike Sullivan, Lawrence Toet, Jeff Watson and Wai Young.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Peter Kent for Peter Braid.

 

In attendance: House of Commons: Jean-François Pagé, Procedural Clerk. Library of Parliament: Zachary Alaoui, Analyst; Allison Padova, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of the review of the Canadian transportation safety regime, the proposed budget in the amount of $ 55,870.80, for the travel of seven members of the Committee accompanied by the necessary staff to the following destinations: Vancouver, British Columbia, Kitimat, British Columbia, Edmonton, Alberta, and Winnipeg, Manitoba, in 2014, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of the review of the Canadian transportation safety regime, the proposed budget in the amount of $ 59,095.14, for the travel of seven members of the Committee accompanied by the necessary staff to the following destinations: Williston, North Dakota, United States of America, and Houston, Texas, United States of America, in 2014, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of the review of the Canadian transportation safety regime, the proposed budget in the amount of $ 54,320.80, for the travel of seven members of the Committee accompanied by the necessary staff to the following destinations: Sarnia, Ontario, Toronto, Ontario, Montreal, Quebec, and Saint John, New Brunswick, in 2014, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the motion adopted by the Committee on December 2, 2013, in relation to the study of the review of the Canadian transportation safety regime, members of the Committee submit to the Clerk of the Committee their lists of witnesses on rail transportation by Friday, December 13, 2013, and their lists of witnesses on the remaining topics by Friday, February 14, 2014.

 

At 3:55 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
