The Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities met in a televised session at 8:50 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Larry Miller, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Marjolaine Boutin-Sweet, Peter Braid, Ed Komarnicki, Hoang Mai, David J. McGuinty, Larry Miller, Mike Sullivan, Lawrence Toet, Jeff Watson and Wai Young.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Zachary Alaoui, Analyst; Allison Padova, Analyst.

 

Appearing: Hon. Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs.

 

Witnesses: Infrastructure Canada: Su Dazé, Assistant Deputy Minister, Corporate Services Branch; Yazmine Laroche, Associate Deputy Minister; Louis Lévesque, Deputy Minister.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee resumed consideration of the Main Estimates 2014-15: Vote 1 under CANADA POST CORPORATION, Vote 1 under CANADIAN AIR TRANSPORT SECURITY AUTHORITY, Vote 1 under CANADIAN TRANSPORTATION AGENCY, Vote 1 under MARINE ATLANTIC INC., Votes 1 and 5 under NATIONAL CAPITAL COMMISSION, Votes 1 and 5 under OFFICE OF INFRASTRUCTURE OF CANADA, Vote 1 under THE FEDERAL BRIDGES CORPORATION LIMITED, Vote 1 under THE JACQUES-CARTIER AND CHAMPLAIN BRIDGES INC., Votes 1, 5 and 10 under TRANSPORT, Vote 1 under TRANSPORTATION APPEAL TRIBUNAL OF CANADA, Vote 1 under VIA RAIL CANADA INC., referred to the Committee on Thursday, February 27, 2014.
 

The Hon. Denis Lebel made a statement and, with Louis Lévesque, answered questions.

 

At 9:53 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:54 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the Clerk of the Committee proceeded to the election of the First Vice-Chair.
 

On motion of Jeff Watson, it was agreed, — That Hoang Mai be elected First Vice-Chair of the Committee.

 

At 9:56 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
