Honourable members, I see quorum. We can now proceed to the election of the chair.
Pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the chair must be a member of the government party. I am ready to receive motions for the chair.
It has been moved by Roxanne James that Daryl Kramp be elected as chair of the committee.
Are there further motions?
Is it the pleasure of the committee to adopt the motion?

The Clerk: I declare Daryl Kramp duly elected chair of the committee.
Before inviting Mr. Kramp to take the chair, if the committee wishes we will now proceed to the election of vice-chairs.
Pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the first vice-chair must be a member of the official opposition. I am now prepared to receive motions for the first vice-chair.
Mr. Kramp.
It has been moved by Mr. Kramp that Randall Garrison be elected as first vice-chair of the committee.

Good afternoon, colleagues. Welcome once again and thank you for that magnificent expression of support.
Before we move to our formal agenda, let me introduce our new clerk, Mr. Leif-Erik Aune.
Welcome, on behalf of this entire committee. We certainly look forward to working with you. I think you are going to see that we are a pretty agreeable bunch, all things considered, most of the time anyway.
My colleagues have a copy of the study on the economics of policing, which has been presented to us. I would like to thank our analysts for all the work they did bringing that forward so that at the appropriate time we can do our diligence with it.
Thank you very much for all your hard work.
Colleagues, before we go into business—and I'll ask to go in camera on future business, which I hope we can do simply because we have a couple of breaks coming along with the budget and so on—we have to decide if there are any changes to routine motions moving forward. Do we have a motion to accept them as they are?
The only thing on the routine motions that would change is that there is one less round because there's one less person from the NDP and the Conservative Party.
Thank you, Mr. Easter. I have been advised by the clerk that if we do wish to get into a discussion on this that I am going to need unanimous consent to move forward. Otherwise the meeting will be over at this stage.
If people are comfortable the way they are, we can go into it. Otherwise if we are going to get into a debate, we are going to have to—
Can I then have from this committee unanimous consent to go into future business so that we might at least get a tentative schedule moving forward? Do I have unanimous support?
