The Standing Committee on Natural Resources met at 11:48 a.m. this day, in Room 268, The Valour Building, the Chair, Leon Benoit, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Leon Benoit, Kelly Block, Joan Crockatt, Guy Lauzon, Ryan Leef, Hon. Geoff Regan and Brad Trost.

 

Acting Members present: Dennis Bevington for Linda Duncan and John Rafferty for Chris Charlton.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Mohamed Zakzouk, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Department of Natural Resources: Terence Hubbard, Director General, Petroleum Resources Branch, Energy Sector; Douglas Heath, Director, Oil Sands and Energy Security Division, Energy Sector; Ruth Talbot, Deputy Director, Fuels and Refining, Oil Sands and Energy Security Division. Competition Bureau: Martine Dagenais, Associate Deputy Commissioner, Economic Policy and Enforcement; Greg Lang, Senior Competition Officer. National Energy Board: Shelley Milutinovic, Chief Economist; Darren Christie, Director, Energy Markets Team and Acting Director - Energy Trade Team.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 6, 2014, the Committee commenced its review of propane markets in Canada.
 

Terence Hubbard and Martine Dagenais made statements.

 

At 12:10 p.m., by unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit.

 

Shelley Milutinovic and Darren Christie, by videoconference from Calgary, Alberta, made statements.

 

At 12:20 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
