The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met in a televised session at 4:49 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, David Christopherson, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dan Albas, Malcolm Allen, Jay Aspin, John Carmichael, David Christopherson, Ted Falk, Alain Giguère, Bryan Hayes, Yvonne Jones and Stephen Woodworth.

 

Witnesses: Office of the Auditor General of Canada: Nancy Cheng, Assistant Auditor General; Richard Domingue, Principal. Treasury Board Secretariat: Daniel Watson, Chief Human Resources Officer; Kim Gowing, Director, Pensions and Benefits Sector. Department of Finance: Nicholas Leswick, Director, Fiscal Policy Division. Royal Canadian Mounted Police: A/Commr Gilles Moreau, Director General, Workforce Programs and Services. Department of National Defence: Cmdre Lynn L. Bisson, Assistant Chief of Military Personnel. Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions: Jean-Claude Ménard, Chief Actuary, Office of the Chief Actuary. Public Sector Pension Investment Board: John Valentini, Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g) and the motions adopted by the Committee on Monday, May 12, 2014 and Wednesday, May 28, 2014, the Committee resumed consideration of Chapter 1, Public Sector Pension Plans, of the Spring 2014 Report of the Auditor General of Canada, referred to the Committee on Tuesday, May 6, 2014.
 

The witnesses answered questions.

 

At 5:17 p.m., by unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit.

 

The Committee resumed consideration of Chapter 1, Public Sector Pension Plans, of the Spring 2014 Report of the Auditor General of Canada

 

At 5:34 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
