[Translation]

Honourable members of the Liaison Committee, I see a quorum.

[English]

Welcome to the second meeting of the Liaison Committee.
My name is Ian McDonald. I am the new clerk of the Liaison Committee.
The first order of business is to elect a chair. I am now ready to receive motions for the position of chair.
    Mr. McColeman.
I nominate Mr. Dean Allison for the position of chair.
It has been moved by Mr. McColeman that Mr. Dean Allison be elected chair of the committee. Are there any further motions?
    (Motion agreed to)
The Clerk: Before inviting Mr. Allison to take the chair, if the committee wishes we will now proceed to the election of the vice-chair. I am now prepared to receive motions for the position of vice-chair.
    Mr. Allison.
I nominate Mr. Christopherson as vice-chair.
It's been moved by Mr. Allison that Mr. Christopherson be elected vice-chair. Are there any further motions? In absentia?
    (Motion agreed to)
The Clerk: Mr. Allison, you can take the chair.
We want to get our subcommittee on committee budgets. In addition to the chair and the vice-chair, we have a list here from before. They are as follows: Mr. Miller, Mr. Martin, Mr. Preston, Mr. McColeman, and Mr. Warkentin. We are continuing, so can we let this list carry?
    Some hon. members: Agreed.
The Chair: Sorry, Mr. Preston, but you're no longer on subcommittees. We don't like your answers anymore.
[Inaudible] like to travel and turn me off?
    Thank you very much.
The existing subcommittee is still intact.
We're now going to move in camera so we can look at some business.
    [Proceedings continue in camera]
