The Standing Committee on the Status of Women met at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 7-52, 131 Queen Street, the Chair, Hélène LeBlanc, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Stella Ambler, Niki Ashton, Joyce Bateman, Joan Crockatt, Kirsty Duncan, Hélène LeBlanc, Tilly O'Neill Gordon, Annick Papillon, Djaouida Sellah, Susan Truppe, Terence Young and Wai Young.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Laura Munn-Rivard, Analyst.

Witnesses: Status of Women Canada: Sébastien Goupil, Director General, Policy and External Relations; Linda Savoie, Director General, Women's Program and Regional Operations. Department of Health: Hasan Hutchinson, Director General, Office of Nutrition Policy and Promotion, Health Products and Food Branch. Public Health Agency of Canada: Marla Israel, Acting Director General, Centre for Health Promotion, Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention Branch. Canadian Institutes of Health Research: Joy Johnson, Scientific Director, Institute of Gender and Health.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, the Committee resumed its study of eating disorders amongst girls and women.

Joy Johnson, by videoconference from Vancouver, British Columbia, Marla Israel and Hasan Hutchinson, made statements and, with Linda Savoie, answered questions.

At 5:02 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
