The Standing Committee on the Status of Women met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 228, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Hélène LeBlanc, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Stella Ambler, Joan Crockatt, Kirsty Duncan, Hélène LeBlanc, Tilly O'Neill Gordon, Djaouida Sellah, Susan Truppe and Terence Young.

Acting Members present: Mylène Freeman for Niki Ashton, Gerald Keddy for Tilly O'Neill Gordon and Chungsen Leung for Wai Young.

In attendance: House of Commons: Caroline Bosc, Procedural Clerk . Library of Parliament: Laura Munn-Rivard, Analyst ; Martha Butler, Analyst.

Witnesses: Canadian Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry: Wendy Spettigue, Psychiatrist. Canadian Psychological Association: Giorgio A. Tasca, Research Chair in Psychotherapy Research, University of Ottawa and the Ottawa Hospital; Lisa Votta-Bleeker, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Director, Science Directorate. Canadian Federation of Mental Health Nurses: Elizabeth Phoenix, Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Nurse Specialist.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, the Committee resumed its study of eating disorders amongst girls and women.

Elizabeth Phoenix, by videoconference from London, Ontario, Wendy Spettigue, Giorgio A. Tasca, and Lisa Votta-Bleeker, made statements and answered questions.

At 5:15 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
