The Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities met in a televised session at 3:44 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Larry Miller, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Mark Adler, Robert Aubin, Olivia Chow, Joe Daniel, Ed Holder, Larry Miller, Isabelle Morin, Pierre Poilievre, Mike Sullivan and Lawrence Toet.

 

Acting Members present: Greg Kerr for Jeff Watson and Scott Simms for David J. McGuinty.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Zachary Alaoui, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Christian Labour Association of Canada: Dennis Perrin, Director, Prairies. Merit Contractors Association: Harvey Miller, Executive Director; Clyde Sigurdson, Treasurer, President, Ken Paulson Enterprises Ltd.. Building and Construction Trades Department, AFL-CIO: Robert Blakely, Director, Canadian Affairs.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on September 26, 2011, the Committee resumed its study on how competition can make Infrastructure dollars go further.
 

Dennis Perrin, Harvey Miller and Robert Blakely, by teleconference from Banff, Alberta, made statements and, with Clyde Sigurdson, answered questions.

 

Mike Sullivan gave notice of the following motion:

That the Committee conduct a study on the pension situation at Canada Post.

 

At 5:23 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
