MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 93

Thursday, May 23, 2013

The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met in camera at 4:04 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, David Christopherson, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Malcolm Allen, Lysane Blanchette-Lamothe, Hon. Gerry Byrne, David Christopherson, Earl Dreeshen, Alain Giguère, Bryan Hayes, Daryl Kramp, Andrew Saxton and John Williamson.

Acting Members present: Stella Ambler for Bev Shipley and Wai Young for Jay Aspin.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Alex Smith, Analyst.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Committee, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a draft budget for the annual conference of the Canadian Council of Public Accounts Committees, to be held in Regina, Saskatchewan, from August 25 to August 27, 2013, for consideration by the Committee at its next meeting on Tuesday, May 28, 2013.

It was agreed, — That the Committee schedule its upcoming meetings as follows:

• Tuesday, May 28, 2013: Consideration of draft reports;

• Thursday, May 30, 2013: Consideration of draft reports; and

• Tuesday, June 4, 2013: Hearing on Chapter 10, Advance Funding — P3 Canada Fund, of the Spring 2013 Report of the Auditor General of Canada.

It was agreed, — That the Committee welcome a parliamentary delegation from Guyana at its meeting on Thursday, June 6, 2013.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, the Committee commenced its study of Committee policy regarding information requests during public hearings.

At 5:36 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
