OGGO Committee Meeting

The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met at 11:01 a.m. this day, in Room 228, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Pat Martin, presiding.

On motion of Linda Duncan, it was agreed, — That Peter Braid be elected First Vice-Chair of the Committee.

At 11:05 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:05 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

It was agreed, — That the appointment of Yaprak Baltacioglu as Secretary of Treasury Board be considered in the first hour of the meeting of Thursday, February 7, 2013, pursuant to Standing Orders 110 and 111; and that Yaprak Baltacioglu be invited to appear for the purposes of this consideration.

It was agreed, — That the appointment of Michelle d’Auray as Deputy Minister of Public Works and Government Services Canada be considered in the second hour of the meeting on Thursday, February 7, 2013, pursuant to Standing Orders 110 and 111; and that Michelle d’Auray be invited to appear for the purposes of this consideration.

It was agreed, — That the meetings of Tuesday, February 12, and Thursday, February 14, 2013, be dedicated to the consideration of the draft report on the effectiveness of public-private partnerships in the delivery of government services.

It was agreed, — That the meetings of Tuesday, February 26, and Thursday, February 28, 2013, be dedicated to the consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (C) for 2012–13; that the list of witnesses invited to appear be as follows: officials from the Treasury Board Secretariat on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, from 11 a.m. to noon; officials from the Department of Public Works and Government Services on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, from noon to 1 p.m.; officials from the Privy Council Office on Thursday, February 28, 2013, from 11 a.m. to noon; officials from a department or agency to be determined during the week of February 11, 2013, on Thursday, February 28, 2013, from noon to 1 p.m.

It was agreed, — That the meetings of Tuesday, March 5; Thursday, March 7; Tuesday, March 19; and Thursday, March 21, 2013, be dedicated to the hearing of witnesses on energy efficiency in government buildings, structures and public works, if possible in the form of three-or four-person panels on a single theme.

It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the routine motion relating to the distribution of documents, the clerk be authorized to distribute to members the three consultants’ reports provided by the Department of Public Works and Government Services in a written response to the Committee submitted on Monday, December 31, 2012, in one official language only, provided that the French translation of those reports be required of the Department and provided to the Committee no later than Tuesday, March 5, 2013.
