The Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met in camera at 11:15 a.m. this day, in Room 228, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Ed Komarnicki, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Marjolaine Boutin-Sweet, Brad Butt, Chris Charlton, Ryan Cleary, Rodger Cuzner, Joe Daniel, Ed Komarnicki, Kellie Leitch, Phil McColeman and Devinder Shory.

 

Acting Members present: Mike Sullivan for François Lapointe and Maurice Vellacott for Colin Mayes.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Sandra Gruescu, Analyst; André Léonard, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, September 27, 2012, the Committee resumed its study of economic opportunities for young apprentices.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee append to its report dissenting or supplementary opinions from the New Democratic Party and the Liberal Party provided that they are no more than five (5) pages in length and submitted electronically to the Clerk no later than ten (10) days following the adoption of the report by the Committee, in both official languages.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)d) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, January 31, 2013, the Committee resumed its study of exploring employment opportunities for persons with disabilities.
 
The Committee proceeded to give drafting instructions to the analysts for a report.
 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the amount for the 2013 Centennial Flame Research Award be set at $5,750, that the deadline for submitting an application be set at Monday, June 3, 2013, that a Press Release be published on the Committee's Web site and that the Chair and the Clerk be authorized to employ such means as preparing an advertisement in order to publicize the Award.

 

At 12:21 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
