The Standing Committee on Finance met at 9:01 a.m. this day, in the Michelangelo A room, Radisson Saskatoon, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, the Chair, James Rajotte, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Mark Adler, Alain Giguère, Shelly Glover, Randy Hoback, Hoang Mai, Wayne Marston, Cathy McLeod, James Rajotte and Dave Van Kesteren.

Associate Members present: Kelly Block.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Mark Mahabir, Analyst ; Brett Stuckey, Analyst . House of Commons: Marlene Sandoval, Committee Clerk.

Edmonton Chamber of Commerce: Martin Salloum, President and Chief Executive Officer; James Merkosky, Chair, Finance and Taxation Committee. Canadian Association of Social Workers: Ray Pekrul, Board Member. Pursuant to Standing Order 83.1, the Committee resumed its pre-budget consultations 2011.

Carla Kozak, Martin Salloum, Ray Pekrul and John Hyshka made statements and, with James Merkosky and Cate McCready, answered questions.

At 10:27 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:35 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Ian Russell, Dennis Prouse, Robert G. McCulloch, Todd Hames and David Marit, made statements and, with Ray Orb, answered questions.

At 12:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
