The Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics met in a televised session at 11:43 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Jean Crowder, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Scott Andrews, Charlie Angus, Alexandre Boulerice, Brad Butt, Blaine Calkins, John Carmichael, Jean Crowder, Patricia Davidson, Dean Del Mastro, Earl Dreeshen, Pierre-Luc Dusseault and Colin Mayes.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Dara Lithwick, Analyst; Maxime-Olivier Thibodeau, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: The Capital Hill Group: Hon. Joe Jordan, Senior Consultant.

 
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Wednesday, September 28, 2011, section 14.1 (1) of the Lobbying Act, and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, November 29, 2011, the Committee resumed the statutory review of the Lobbying Act.
 

Hon. Joseph Jordan made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 12:39 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:40 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the documents requested of CBC, in the order of November 2, 2011, be held in clerk's office for consultation by members using same guidelines as the routine motion governing consultation of in camera transcripts.

 

It was agreed, — That the analysts be directed to draft a report regarding the study on the access to information dispute and the resulting court actions concerning CBC.

 

At 1:01 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
