The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met in camera at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 7-52, 131 Queen Street, the Chair, the Hon. Rob Moore, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Ray Boughen, Marjolaine Boutin-Sweet, Paul Calandra, Andrew Cash, Matthew Dubé, Hon. Rob Moore, Pierre Nantel, Blake Richards, Scott Simms and Terence Young.

 

Acting Members present: Jay Aspin for Gordon Brown and Jeff Watson for Jim Hillyer.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Marion Ménard, Analyst; Michael Dewing, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the following witnesses be invited to appear in relation to its study on significant aspects of Canadian history:

Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
Canadian Museum of Civilization
Chief Archivist for the Hudson Bay Company
Kevin McLeod, Canadian Secretary to the Queen
Library and Archives Canada
Library of Parliament
Lieutenant General (ret) Michel Maisonneuve
McCain Family Foundation
National Film Board of Canada
Telefilm Canada.

 

It was agreed, — That the meetings on Monday, May 6 and on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 be devoted to hearing witnesses in relation to the Committee's study on significant aspects of Canadian history.

 

It was agreed, — That the Members submit their list of suggested witnesses for the study on significant aspects of Canadian history to the Clerk no later than the end of business day on Wednesday, May 8, 2013.

 

At 4:07 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
