The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met in camera at 8:53 a.m. this day, in Room 8-53, 131 Queen Street, the Chair, Merv Tweed, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Malcolm Allen, Ruth Ellen Brosseau, Randy Hoback, Pierre Lemieux, LaVar Payne, Francine Raynault, Blake Richards, Merv Tweed, Frank Valeriote and Bob Zimmer.

 

Acting Members present: Ben Lobb for Brian Storseth and Djaouida Sellah for Alex Atamanenko.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Khamla Heminthavong, Analyst; Karen Hébert, Chief.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Fourth Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in as amended:

  1. That, in relation to its study of the food supply chain (overview) and the study of the animal products supply chain (red meat), the meetings of Tuesday, October 2 and Thursday, October 4, 2012, be devoted to the consideration of a draft report;

  2. That the Committee undertake a study of the agricultural and agri-food products supply chain (grains and oilseeds), starting Tuesday, October 16, 2012.
 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motions adopted by the Committee on Monday, February 13, 2012, the Committee resumed its study of the food supply chain (overview of the subject).
 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, the Committee resumed its study of the animal products supply chain (red meat).
 

The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

 

At 10:39 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
