The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 268, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Larry Miller, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Malcolm Allen, Alex Atamanenko, Randy Hoback, Pierre Lemieux, Ben Lobb, Larry Miller, LaVar Payne, Francine Raynault, Jean Rousseau, Brian Storseth, Frank Valeriote and Bob Zimmer.

 

Acting Members present: Rod Bruinooge for Brian Storseth.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge, Analyst; Khamla Heminthavong, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Canadian Produce Marketing Association: Ron Lemaire, President; Jane Proctor, Vice-president, Policy and Issue Management. Canadian Soybean Exporters' Association: Martin Harry, Chair; Martin VanderLoo, Treasurer. Grape Growers of Ontario: Debbie Zimmerman, Chief Executive Officer; Mary Jane Combe, Market Analyst. Pulse Canada: Gordon Bacon, Chief Executive Officer.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, September 29, 2011, the Committee resumed its study on Growing Forward 2 (Marketing and Trade).
 

Debbie Zimmerman, Ron Lemaire, Martin Harry and Gordon Bacon made statements and, with Martin VanderLoo, answered questions.

 

At 4:12 p.m., by unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit for the first question of the first round of questionning.

 

At 4:19 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:02 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

At 5:36 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
