The Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities met in a televised session at 9:03 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Merv Tweed, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Dennis Bevington, Lois Brown, Bonnie Crombie, Sukh Dhaliwal, Roger Gaudet, Brian Jean, Colin Mayes, Blake Richards, Merv Tweed, Hon. Joseph Volpe and Jeff Watson.

Other Members present: Luc Desnoyers.

The Ministers Baird and Merrifield made a statement and, with Yaprak Baltacioglu and John Forster, answered questions.

At 10:11 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

On motion of Brian Jean, it was agreed, — That the motion be amended by replacing the words “and notwithstanding the Committee’s routine motion on the distribution of documents, be provided in their original language, with translations to follow” with the words “and that they be presented to the Committee in both official languages as they become available”.

The motion as amended was agreed to.
