The Standing Committee on Natural Resources met by videoconference at 3:39 p.m. this day, in Room 7-52, 131 Queen Street, the Chair, Leon Benoit, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Mike Allen, David Anderson, Scott Andrews, Leon Benoit, Paule Brunelle, Hon. Denis Coderre, Nathan Cullen, Randy Hoback, Roger Pomerleau, Devinder Shory and Alan Tonks.

 

Acting Members present: Royal Galipeau for Randy Hoback.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Jean-Luc Bourdages, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Canadian Nuclear Association: Denise Carpenter, President and Chief Executive Officer. Bruce Power: Duncan Hawthorne, President and Chief Executive Officer. As an individual: Mark Cooper, Senior Research Fellow for Economic Analysis, Institute for Energy and the Environment, Vermont Law School. Ontario Power Generation Inc.: Pierre Tremblay, Senior Vice-President, Nuclear Programs and Training.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, October 7, 2010, the Committee resumed its study of energy security in Canada.
 

Denise Carpenter and Duncan Hawthorne made statements and answered questions.

 

At 4:28 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:30 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Mark Cooper, by videoconference from Des Moines, Iowa, and Pierre Tremblay made statements and answered questions.

 

At 5:19 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
