The Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met in a televised session at 8:31 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Joe Preston, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Harold Albrecht, Steven Blaney, Claude DeBellefeuille, Yvon Godin, Tom Lukiwski, Joe Preston, Marcel Proulx, Scott Reid and Terence Young.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Scott Brison for Yasmin Ratansi, Guy Lauzon for Tom Lukiwski, David J. McGuinty for Judy Foote, Richard Nadeau for Mario Laframboise and LaVar Payne for Tom Lukiwski.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Nicolas Auclair, Analyst; Andre Barnes, Analyst; Nancy Vohl, Research Assistant. House of Commons: Marie-France Renaud, Procedural Clerk.

 
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Wednesday, March 9, 2011, the Committee resumed consideration of the question of privilege relating to the failure of the Government to fully provide the documents as ordered by the House.
 

At 8:34 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:02 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

At 10:25 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:35 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

The Committee adopted revisions to the draft report.

 

Tom Lukiwski moved, — That the Committee invite the Hon. Peter Milliken, Speaker of the House of Commons, to appear at the meeting on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 in relation to its study of the failure of the Governement to fully provide the documents as ordered by the House.

Debate arose thereon.

 

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was negatived on the following recorded division: YEAS: Harold Albrecht, Steven Blaney, Tom Lukiwski, Scott Reid, Terence Young — 5; NAYS: Scott Brison, Claude DeBellefeuille, Yvon Godin, David J. McGuinty, Richard Nadeau, Marcel Proulx — 6.

 

At 11:53 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
