The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 8-53, 131 Queen St., the Chair, David Sweet, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Robert Bouchard, Peter Braid, Serge Cardin, Bernard Généreux, Mike Lake, Brian Masse, Hon. Dan McTeague, Anthony Rota, David Sweet, Dave Van Kesteren and Mike Wallace.

 

Acting Members present: Siobhan Coady for Marc Garneau and Chris Warkentin for Bernard Généreux.

 

Associate Members present: Peter Stoffer.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Mathieu Frigon, Analyst; Dillan Theckedath, Analyst.

 

Appearing: Hon. Gary Goodyear, P.C., M.P., Minister of State (Science and Technology) (Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario).

Pursuant to Standing Order 81(5), the Committee commenced consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (C) 2010-2011: Vote 5c under ATLANTIC CANADA OPPORTUNITIES AGENCY, Votes 5c, 35c, 50c, 60c, 65c, 70c, 80c, 95c and 105c under INDUSTRY referred to the Committee on Tuesday, February 8, 2011.
 

By unanimous consent, the Chair calls Vote 5c under ATLANTIC CANADA OPPORTUNITIES AGENCY and Votes 5c, 35c, 50c, 60c, 65c, 70c, 80c, 95c and 105c under INDUSTRY.

 

Hon. Gary Goodyear made a statement and, with Bruce Archibald, Richard Dicerni, Kent Estabrooks, Peter Hogan and Kelly Gillis, answered questions.

 

At 4:33 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:37 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

At 5:12 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
