The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met in a televised session at 4:30 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, David Sweet, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Robert Bouchard, Peter Braid, Serge Cardin, Marc Garneau, Bernard Généreux, Mike Lake, Brian Masse, Hon. Dan McTeague, Anthony Rota, David Sweet, Dave Van Kesteren and Mike Wallace.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Terrence Thomas, Analyst.

Appearing: Hon. Tony Clement, Minister of Industry.

Witnesses: Department of Industry: Pamela Miller, Director General, Telecommunications Policy Branch; Marta Morgan, Assistant Deputy Minister, Strategic Policy Sector.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, the Committee resumed its study of the recent decisions of the CRTC concerning the billing practices of internet service providers.

Anthony Rota gave notice of the following motion: That, notwithstanding any previously scheduled Committee activity, the Committee invite the Hon. Tony Clement, Minister of Industry, and the Hon. Gary Goodyear, Minister for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, to testify on the Supplementary Estimates (C) 2010-2011 on March 10, 2011 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The Minister made a statement and answered questions.

At 5:32 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
