The Standing Committee on Health met in camera at 7:34 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Vice-Chair, Joyce Murray, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Carolyn Bennett, Patrick Brown, Colin Carrie, Patricia Davidson, Nicolas Dufour, Kirsty Duncan, Megan Anissa Leslie, Luc Malo, Cathy McLeod, Joyce Murray and Tim Uppal.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Marie Chia, Analyst; Karin Phillips, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, March 11, 2010, the Committee resumed its study on Health Human Resources.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: Promoting Innovative Solutions to Health Human Resources Challenges.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analyst be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee may append to its report a supplementary/dissenting opinion from members of all parties provided that it is no more than 5 pages in length (font = 12; line spacing = 1.5) and that the dissenting or supplementary opinions be submitted electronically to the Clerk of the Committee in one official language, no later than Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 5:00 p.m..

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair present the report to the House of Commons if there is sufficient time to do so prior to the summer adjournment period, or in the event that the House has already adjourned, that the Committee seek permission to deposit the report with the Clerk of the House at any time during June or July 2010.

 

At 8:55 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
