The Standing Committee on the Status of Women met at 11:06 a.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Hedy Fry, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Sylvie Boucher, Patricia Davidson, Nicole Demers, Johanne Deschamps, Hon. Hedy Fry, Candice Hoeppner, Irene Mathyssen, Cathy McLeod, Hon. Anita Neville, Tilly O'Neill-Gordon and Lise Zarac.

Acting Members present: Bonnie Crombie for Lise Zarac.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Shahrzad Mobasher Fard, Analyst ; Clara Morgan, Analyst.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

Anita Neville moved, — That the Agency of Status of Women provide the Standing Committee on the Status of Women with a response to all questions that the Minister and Department Officials were unable to answer during their appearance before the Committee on February 12, 2009.

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to.

At 11:08 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:08 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, the Committee resumed its study of the consequences and effects the current Employment Insurance (EI) programs have on women in Canada.

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

At 11:57 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:07 p.m., the sitting resumed.

At 1:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
