The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met at 11:09 a.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Larry Miller, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Alex Atamanenko, André Bellavance, France Bonsant, Hon. Wayne Easter, Hon. Mark Eyking, Randy Hoback, Pierre Lemieux, Larry Miller, Blake Richards, Bev Shipley, Brian Storseth and Francis Valeriote.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge, Analyst; Mathieu Frigon, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Farm Credit Canada: Greg Stewart, President and Chief Executive Officer; Lyndon Carlson, Senior Vice-President, Marketing. Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, the Committee resumed its study of competitiveness of Canadian agriculture.
 

Greg Stewart, Pam Skotnitsky made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 12:12 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:50 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Robin Dawes, James Mann and Luc Godin made statements and answered questions.

 

At 2:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
